The Venue
Dedicated in 1952, Palm Springs’ spectacular Temple Isaiah was designed by famed architect E Stewart Williams in 1949. Noted for its reinforced concrete arches and cantilever stairs, Wiliams won an award for his work from the American Institute of Architects.
The stone, wood, glass, and plaster elements echo Williams’ 1947 design for Frank Sinatra's modernist "Twin Palms" home also in Palm Springs. And Frank Sinatra himself played an integral part in financially supporting Temple Isaiah, and his dedicated seats remain in the main Bochner Santuary.
The 1980s west-facing addition was conceived in 1971 by Donald Wexler and designed by David Christian.
